What makes us sling string?

String Slingers was founded during the pandemic when we bought a ball of kitchen string with our online grocery order.

We were roasting a big old turkey to cheer up our locked-down life. When the order arrived, it was the most miserable ball of string you could imagine.  It was thin, it was sharp and worst of all it was white plastic.

It was not going anywhere near the turkey, or any food for that matter. It got flung into the kitchen drawer in disgust. We tried to use it around the house and garden but every time we touched it it just felt wrong. It cut into our tomato stalks, it cut into our hands, and it started disintegrating into tiny pieces of microplastic after only a few weeks in the sun. 

So we went looking for better string; a soft, natural, strong string that we could safely use to tie up everything from beans in the garden to brisket for the BBQ.  

We like keeping it natural. Especially when it comes to food.  We hope you like our exceptional quality string too and we'd love to see where you sling it.
